Traditional Ornamental Design

A Synthesis of Heritage and Modernity

This residential project explores the intersection of classical design and contemporary luxury. By pairing monumental architectural features—such as the soaring arched entry and Doric-inspired columns—with intricate interior craftsmanship, the design achieves a sense of “quiet grandeur.”

Design Philosophy
The architectural narrative is defined by a rhythmic play between solid volumes and delicate ornamentation. The exterior’s heavy, studded timber portals and grand masonry pay homage to traditional fortress-like permanence, while the interiors transition into an ethereal, light-filled environment.

  • Key Architectural Highlights:
The Formal Dining Vault: A masterclass in decorative structuralism, featuring a vibrant, hand-finished Girih-patterned ceiling in emerald and turquoise, framed by sculptural Muqarnas-style window arches.
  • Light & Screen: Custom-milled Mashrabiya timber partitions act as functional art, filtering natural light to create dynamic shadow play throughout the day while maintaining a sense of spatial flow.
  • Materiality: A curated palette of polished Calacatta marble, brushed gold accents, and velvet upholstery balances the high-contrast geometric tile work (Zellij-inspired) found in the transitional corridors.

The result is a sophisticated residence that honors Middle Eastern cultural motifs through a refined, minimalist silhouette—reimagining palatial living for the modern era.
